Agios (Saint) Isidoros in Greek Άγιος Ισίδωρος is one of the villages of the Rhodes island that has remained untouched by massive tourism. Built at the foothills of Mount Attavyros, it is located 63km away from the city of Rhodes and is one of its most quiet villages, with just a few but hospitable inhabitants. Actually a village that follows closely its customs and traditions and you will realize this if you happen to be around mainly during Easter time. It is an especially popular destination for the lovers of hiking, having as it does trails that lead to the top of Attavyros. Also, a visit is worth making to the monastery of Artamitis, just before you enter the village, dedicated to Evangelist John the Theologian and built in the 10th century on the ruins of an ancient temple of Artemis.
