Renowned for its delicious watermelons, the village hosts an annual watermelon festival in July, featuring Greek music, dancing, food, drinks, and, of course, plenty of free watermelon. If you’re in the vicinity, it’s an event you won’t want to miss.
The central square offers a variety of traditional coffee shops and tavernas. Additionally, you can explore the nearby artificial lake of Apolakkia. Created to provide water for Rhodes and the surrounding Dodecanese islands, the dam’s construction resulted in a stunning lake that now serves as a stopover for migratory birds.
