Amphitheatrically built in the slope of Mount Acramitis, 70km away from Rhodes town, in the southwest of the island, lies the charming Sianna Village.
Sianna has been recognized as a traditional settlement, famous for its high-quality, locally made honey and the distinctive traditional local drink called Souma. You can savor delightful traditional dishes and desserts at the local eateries while enjoying the company of the friendly and hospitable locals. There are also charming little shops where you can find traditional local products to take home.
This village is also a significant destination for those with religious interests, primarily due to the magnificent church of St. Panteleimon situated in the village center. The church stands out with its exceptional architecture and stunning hagiographies.
While you are in Sianna Village, make sure to visit the ancient settlement of Kymisala, a protected natural monument, Natura 2000, to discover distinctive local plant and animal species. Also, don’t forget to explore the monastery of Theotokos the Life-giving Spring, nestled in a lovely pine forest setting.
