Holy Apostles Chapel

Description

The Holy Apostles Chapel in Faliraki (Agioi Apostoloi) is a charming seaside religious site located just 14 km from Rhodes Town. Built in 1997, it stands beautifully above the Aegean Sea.

Set in the beautiful Faliraki harbor, with its distinctive blue-and-white exterior, the Holy Apostles Chapel has become one of the island’s most recognizable landmarks. Popular among locals and visitors alike, its unique coastal setting makes it a peaceful stop during a Rhodes sightseeing itinerary.

Inside, visitors can admire colorful stained-glass windows at the entrance and throughout the chapel, along with elegant frescoes depicting saints and scenes from the life of Christ. A beautifully carved wooden icon screen and a separate wooden shrine housing the icon of the Holy Apostles add to its charm.

The Holy Apostles Chapel is especially enchanting at sunset, offering beautiful views over Faliraki’s main beach and the endless blue horizon. Its seaside location creates a memorable atmosphere for a relaxing walk and photography. The chapel’s beautiful surroundings make it a favored venue for weddings and baptisms among the local community.
