Ancient Kamiros

Ancient Kamiros. One of the three ancient city-states of Rhodes (Ialysos, Lindos, Kamiros). It is located at the northwestern side of the island, between the villages of Mandriko and Kalavarda. It was built in three levels, dating at the 3rd century B.C: the Akropolis, which is on top of the hill, the dwelling at the second level and the agora, the doric spring, the altars and the hellenistic temple at the last level.
It is an ideal destination for archaeology enthusiasts, with many findings, however, exhibited today at the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, the British Museum and the Louvre Museum.
