Romantic and undeniably picturesque, this secluded beach offers a peaceful retreat from the island’s busier shores. Nestled among dramatic rock formations, its small pebbled coves create an idyllic setting that radiates tranquility and charm.
The beach is often kissed by gentle waves and boasts crystal-clear waters, but it deepens quickly, making it not suitable for families with young children.
Entirely unorganized—no sunbeds, umbrellas, or facilities—Kato Petres Beach retains a raw, untouched beauty. There is, however, a small canteen at the entrance from Kritika offering basic refreshments.
Access is easy on foot. A scenic coastal path connects the southern end of Akti Kanari Beach in Rhodes Town to the start of the Kritika neighborhood. This approximately 1-kilometer walk is a favorite among locals, especially in the late afternoon, when the setting sun casts golden hues over the Aegean, offering one of the most romantic sunset views on the island.
