Description
From 9 to 31 October 2026, BEHOLD RHODES – Hic Rhodus brings contemporary art to the Auberge de France (Inn Of France) in Rhodes Old Town, as part of the 2nd Rhodes Contemporary Ceramics Biennale.
Curated by Apostolos Artinos, the exhibition features 14 artists inspired by the renowned ICARUS pottery factory of Rhodes. Their contemporary works reinterpret the factory’s distinctive ceramic heritage, challenging traditional ideas of craft and cultural identity.
First presented in Athens in 2023, the expanded Ceramics Exhibition returns to Rhodes, nearly a century after the factory was established, paying tribute to its owners, Kostas and Phaedra Chatzikostanti, and the artisans who created its lasting legacy.
The opening takes place on Friday, 9 October at 19:30. Admission is free.
The exhibition is co-organised by the South Aegean Region, Auberge de France, Icaro Contemporary Art Gallery & Agency, and Galleria Pe.Mu.Vi.A.
