Church of Saint Nectarios

The Church of Saint Nectarios in Faliraki (Agios Nektarios) is one of the most recognisable and impressive churches in Rhodes, located about 14 km from Rhodes Town, along the resort’s main avenue.

Built in 1967, the church stands out for its imposing architecture and beautiful exterior. Its spacious courtyard is equally impressive, featuring trees, flowers, benches and an elegant bell tower, creating a welcoming setting for visitors.

Inside, the highlight is the striking white marble iconostasis. A marble shrine displaying the icon of Agios Nekrarios occupies a prominent position, while the church walls are decorated with religious frescoes. Particularly impressive is the depiction of Christ Pantocrator adorning the dome.

The Saint Nektarios Church is especially popular among locals from across Rhodes, who choose it for their weddings and the baptisms of their children.

Every year on 9 November, the church celebrates Saint Nectarios with festive Divine Liturgies, attracting worshippers who come to honour the saint and take part in the religious celebrations.
