This unique cultural event celebrates the Afandou Pancake (Afandeni Tiganita), the village’s beloved traditional sweet. Deeply rooted in local customs, it is still offered during engagement ceremonies by the bride’s family to the groom’s family as a heartfelt symbol of welcome and unity. Visitors will have the chance to taste this delicious treat for free and watch live how it is prepared, offering a true glimpse into the culinary heritage of Rhodes.

The Afandou Pancake Festival is organized by the Culture and Environment Association of Afandou “Panagia Katholiki” in co-organization with the Region of South Aegean and the Municipality of Rhodes, with the support of the local community of Afandou, DOPAR, and the Federation of Cultural Associations of Rhodes.
