Pilonas Village

Pilonas Village is a delightful little community located in southeastern Rhodes, 45 km from Rhodes Town and just 5 km from the picturesque village of Lindos.

Despite its proximity to popular tourist destinations, Pilonas village retains a serene ambiance as a quiet community. Significant discoveries made through archaeological digs and by local residents highlight the area’s importance dating back to ancient times.

In the regions of Peristeri, Asprospilia, Mandres-Livadia, and Drakos, remnants of late Roman and early Christian structures, a Mycenaean burial site, as well as gold coins, swords, and shields from the late Hellenistic and Roman periods have been uncovered. These locations have been designated as archaeological sites and are definitely worth a visit.

Additionally, the stunning Church of Agios Gerasimos at the village’s entrance and the Church of Evangelismos, adorned with Byzantine frescoes, are also must-see attractions.
