Surrounded by turquoise waters and dramatic coastal scenery, this charming white-washed chapel offers a truly unforgettable setting about 50 km from Rhodes Town.
According to tradition, the Apostle Paul arrived at the small harbor of Lindos in 52 AD, during his journey to Jerusalem, bringing Christianity to the island. The harbor, now known as St. Paul’s Bay, remains a place of deep historical and spiritual significance.
In 1956, a special vespers ceremony was held at this sacred location by the Metropolitan of Rhodes, Spyridon Synodinos, marking the foundation of the picturesque Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul.
Today, Agios Pavlos Chapel is not only a place of worship but also one of Rhodes’ most romantic wedding destinations, attracting couples from around the world.
On June 29, the chapel celebrates the Feast of Saint Paul and Saint Peter annually. The festivities begin the night before, on June 28, with a traditional event called Panigyri in the village square of Lindos, where local dances and music are performed.
