Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior

On the western side of Rhodes, approximately 1.5 km from Fanes and 26 km from Rhodes Town, you will find the historic Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior.

Its single nave architecture, constructed from sandstone and topped with a tiled roof, gives it a unique silhouette against the landscape. Inside, vistors can admire stunning frescoes and a small wooden iconostasis. In the courtyard, there is the bell tower with a fountain at its base, and a lovely wooden pergola.

The Holy Feast of the Metamorfosis of Sotiros

Every year, from August 3 to 6, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Fanes village hosts a lively festival in honor of the Holy Feast. Visitors can enjoy traditional music, delicious local cuisine, and various cultural activities, making it a delightful experience.
