On the western side of Rhodes, approximately 1.5 km from Fanes Village and 26 km from Rhodes Town, you will find the historic Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior (Metamorfosi tou Sotiros).
Its single nave architecture, constructed from sandstone and topped with a tiled roof, gives it a unique silhouette against the landscape. Inside, visitors can admire stunning frescoes and a small wooden iconostasis. In the courtyard, there is the bell tower with a fountain at its base, and a lovely wooden pergola.
