Lardos Beach
Description
Located on the southeastern coast of Rhodes, Lardos Beach lies 52 km from Rhodes Town and just 2 km from Lardos village. With crystal-clear waters, pebbles and fine sand, it offers a peaceful alternative to nearby Lothiarika Beach.
The shoreline combines pebbles and fine sand, both on the beach and beneath the water, with rocks along the right-hand side. Pebbles give way to sand as you enter the sea, where the usually calm waters invite a refreshing swim. However, the seabed deepens quite quickly, so extra care is advised for families with young children. The clear waters and the rich underwater scenery make the beach a great spot for snorkelling enthusiasts.
Lardos Beach offers a mix of organised facilities and open space, with sunbeds and umbrellas available for hire, some reserved for guests of the hotels overlooking the shore. There is also plenty of room for visitors who prefer to bring their own beach equipment and enjoy a more relaxed day by the sea.
Several restaurants in the area serve fresh seafood and traditional Greek appetisers, making it easy to enjoy a leisurely meal after a swim.
For a unique coastal experience, rent a boat to explore hidden coves and nearby beaches at your own pace, or join an organised boat trip to discover the beauty of southeastern Rhodes from the sea.
How to Get There
Reaching Lardos Beach is easy by car or motorbike, with parking available nearby. Regular bus services connect the beach with surrounding areas, stopping along the main road just a one-minute walk from the shore.
With its inviting waters, convenient facilities and relaxed atmosphere, Lardos Beach is a lovely choice for swimming, snorkelling and enjoying a quieter side of Rhodes.
