Istrios Winter Camp Festival

On March 6th, 7th and 8th, the Istrios Winter Camp Festival returns to the beautiful village of Istrios, in Rhodes, bringing together nature lovers for a truly unique three-day experience.

Recognized as the largest alternative event in Rhodes, the Istrios Winter Camp is a non-profit festival where all forms of financial transactions are strictly prohibited. That means you leave your wallet at home, bring your tent, and come prepared with your best energy and positive spirit.

The festival offers free camping in the forest, dozens of local live music bands performing on stage, and a warm community atmosphere built around simplicity, creativity, and connection with nature. It is more than just a festival; it is a celebration of freedom and togetherness.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, including flying fox (zipline), archery, a climbing tower, yoga sessions, guided hiking excursions, and many more experiences in the heart of nature.

Admission is completely free for everyone, staying true to the event’s non-profit philosophy.

Before starting your journey to Istrios, it is important to bring the proper camping equipment. Make sure you have a winter-appropriate tent, sleeping mats or an air mattress, a cold-weather sleeping bag, flashlights or lanterns, food and drinks (although some local treats will be available), plates, forks and cups, and garbage bags, because responsible campers always leave the forest clean.

The Istrios Winter Camp is organized by the Cultural Association of Istrios “Agios Merkourios” in co-organization with the Region of South Aegean and the Municipality of Rhodes, with the support of the local community of Istrios, DEYAR (Rhodes Municipal Water and Sewerage Company), the Federation of Cultural Associations of Rhodes, the Dodecanese Chefs’ Club, O.F. Istriou, and numerous volunteer groups.
