Don’t miss the 12th Laerma Olive Festival on Sunday, March 8, at 12:00 PM in the central square of the charming village of Laerma, Rhodes. A fantastic day awaits, filled with olive delicacies, vibrant music, and a whole lot of dancing.
This annual celebration, organized by the Cultural Association of Laerma “To Tharri”, and the Athletic Association of Laerma “Polystrato”, is a vibrant gastronomic and cultural tribute to the olive tree, a cherished symbol of life, tradition, and prosperity in the region.
Visitors will have the chance to savor a variety of delicious olive-based dishes, including olive spoon sweet, traditional olive bread, local recipes with olive, and innovative culinary creations inspired by the Rhodian land. At the same time, renowned chefs, with the participation of the Dodecanese & Cyclades Chefs Club, will cook for free for the public, offering authentic flavors of our region and highlighting the rich gastronomic heritage of the area.
The Laerma Olive Festival will also feature live music and lively traditional dances performed by local and neighborhood village dance groups, infusing the event with a joyful and festive spirit.
Additionally, an exhibition displaying agricultural tools and artifacts related to olive cultivation and rural life will provide visitors with a deeper understanding of the region’s history and traditions.
The Laerma Olive Festival is organized by the Cultural Association of Laerma “To Tharri”, and the Athletic Association of Laerma “Polystrato”, with the valuable support of the South Aegean Region, the Municipality of Rhodes, DOPAR, the local community, and the Holy Monastery of Tharri.
