10th Lopi Festival
Event Starts In
Description
Join us as we celebrate the 10th edition of Lopi Festival taking place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 8:00 pm in the courtyard of the Agia Paraskevi Church in Kattavia, Rhodes.
This event is a heartfelt celebration of our cherished local product, Lopi, meaning Bean in Rhodian dialect, featuring delightful local cuisine, lively music, and traditional dancing that will carry on into the early hours of the morning.
Experience the warmth of our community as you savor the traditional Kattaveni lopada, a hearty bean stew made with our unique village variety of dried beans. This recipe, lovingly passed down through generations, reflects the rich agricultural heritage of our region. We’ll serve it warm and fragrant, ensuring there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy.
This festival is not just about food; it’s a heartfelt tribute to our traditions and a celebration of our connection to the land. We look forward to welcoming you to our charming village!
The Kattavia Lopi Festival is organized by the Cultural Association of Kattavia “Agia Paraskevi”, with the valuable support of the Municipality of Rhodes, the Region of South Aegean, the Local Community of Kattavia, and the Ecclesiastical Committee of St. Paraskevi.
